1. The Short Version

You can read every word on this site without telling it anything about yourself. There is no account to make, no newsletter to join, and no comment box. Nothing here asks for your name or your email, so nothing here stores them.

2. Traffic Measurement

This site uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page views, which is how the author knows which posts people actually read. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, so there is no banner asking you to agree to one.

For each page view it records the page address, the site you arrived from, your general location no more precise than a city, and your browser, operating system, and device type. To tell one visitor from another it derives a temporary hash from your request and discards it within a day. That hash counts as personal data under the GDPR, and it is processed on the basis of a legitimate interest in knowing how many people visit. It is never used to build a profile, follow you to another site, or work out who you are.

3. Cookies

Reading this site sets no cookies at all. The one exception never applies to readers: the author signs in to publish posts, and that sign-in creates a session cookie on the private editing pages. It is restricted to a single approved account, it is required for the login to function, and it is never set by any page you can reach as a reader.

4. Third Parties

The site is hosted by Vercel, which also provides the analytics described above and keeps standard server logs. The author signs in through Google, which is the only reason Google is involved and only ever for the author's own account. Nothing on this site is sold, rented, or handed to advertisers, because there are no advertisers.

Posts link out to other websites, and those sites run their own tracking under their own policies. Once you follow a link, you are reading under their rules, not these.

5. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to it being processed. Because the analytics data is aggregate and its identifiers are discarded within a day, there is usually nothing held that could be traced back to you. If you want to ask anyway, use the contact address below.

6. Changes

If what this site collects ever changes, this page changes first. The "last updated" date at the top tells you when that happened.
